St. Jude’s has launched an exciting new partnership with iCarly stars Jennette McCurdy and Nathan Kress, and Victorious star Ariana Grande for the long-running St. Jude Math-A-Thon program. The young stars will serve as the spokespeople for the program and are also helping launch a new sweepstakes that will give two lucky students the opportunity to visit the Los Angeles set for a taping of a Nickelodeon show.

For more than 30 years the St. Jude Math-A-Thon program has been America’s largest education-based fundraiser and has raised $417 million for St. Jude. The program includes a math curriculum supplement for grades K-8 that students complete after obtaining sponsorships from family and friends. Schools from all 50 states have participated in the program.

In honor of this amazing cause, we had to engage Jennette McCurdy in a Take Aim.

What was the main reason you partnered with St. Jude for the Math-a-Thon?

I loved the fact that this cause was benefiting so many parties: the child wanting to help, the sponsors they get who learn more about St Jude, and of course, the St. Jude patients themselves.

For the students that might win a chance to come to the set of the show – can you tell us what that experience will be like for them?

Laughs, fried chicken, and Jerry Trainor. What more do you need in life?

What was your favorite subject as a student?

English all the way. I love reading and I adore writing. I did have a few years in middle school as a math junkie, though.

What is your favorite thing about partnering with St. Jude?

The are hands down one of the best charities I know about. The things they do for their patients and their patients’ families are really extensive and involved. They don’t turn any children away for treatment. They treat patients like family and the hospital in itself is leaps and bounds above other children’s hospitals both in decoration and care.

You have an album you recently released. Can you tell me a little bit about it? Do you have a favorite song from it?

My debut EP was recently released into Justice stores. It’s seven tracks of contemporary country music. My favorite track is “Have to Say Goodbye.” It’s fun to listen to, has a great beat, and was inspired by the Hall & Oates songs.
