Posted on October 7, 2011

Jennette Mccurdy arrived at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on October 7, 2011 in Sydney, Australia to co-host the 2011 Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards with iCarly’s Nathan Kress. Much to her surprise, she won the LOL Award! She emerged from a large spaghetti taco to receive her award and made her acceptance speech:

This is unreal! Wow, uh I feel really obligated to say something funny… I did just pop out of a taco though so hopefully that will suffice. Um, thank you so much to Dan Schneider for being a creative genius and one of my best friends! Um, thank you to our incredible writers for writing hilarious jokes! To my crew and cast mates! The lovely shelia, Miranda and the uh unruly blokes, Nathan and Jerry and Noah! Um, thank you to Seema and Paula and everybody at Nickelodeon! To my mom for being, my biggest inspiration and for teaching me to find the humor in all things, and to THE FANS! This award goes to anybody who has ever chortled, chuckled or giggled or laughed or guffawed at me, I thank you so much! Um, if I was able to give you laughs then thats the greatest thing in the world because laughters the best sound I have ever heard. Uh, thank you guys! Thank you Australia for your kindness and your hospitality and your accents! AUSTRALIA! WOOOOO! WOOOO! WOOOOO! WOOOOOO!

She is now officially listed as an award winner on the Australian Nickelodeon site:

She then tweeted soon after winning the award and getting slimed:

Had absolutely one of the best days ever hosting the Aussie KCA. I can’t believe I won the LOL Award! THANK YOU AUSTRALIA, FOR YOUR KINDNESS

On a sadder note, according to The West Australian, Jennette’s album is not due to be released until early of next year.

Like many tween television stars, the 19-year-old has launched a music career and while she may not have found commercial success in Australia yet, her loyal iCarly fans will be eagerly awaiting her next musical steps. She has a new album due out early next year

  1. This is troubling. What’s the deal with the consistent pushbacks on Jennette’s debut album? From the sounds of things, I thought the album was finished. Capitol Nashville even threw Jennette an “album listening party” back in July that coincided with Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars.” Something doesn’t seem right, here. If Capitol Records Nashville really wants Jennette to succeed, they should’ve released her album already, as two singles (along with music videos) have already been sent to the media. I think the problem lies upon the Capitol Nashville staff. I like a lot of artists on Jennette’s label, but for whatever reason, I feel that her label has little to no motivation in getting her album released to the public. Regardless of the circumstances, I, along with other fans, will still be waiting for an album release date.

  2. I agree with John. Of course, if the record label is just waiting for her contract to expire, then it makes sense they would wait for the last possible moment to release the album. If she cannot go on tour to promote the album and make the record label money, then they have no real reason to release it. Jennette herself says that she writes music all the time. It’s not like she doesn’t have any more songs to create, they just don’t want to deal with her situation with her mom. They’ll never admit to it, but it’s true.

  3. Firsted off jennette mccurdy & nathan kress did a great job on the KCA 2011 and im glad jennette won. And i hope we do get a JM album early next year but will we? and that is sometime aways so why?

  4. As far as Amazon.com is concerned, there has been no release date mentioned. I have already paid for it and preordered the album to get to me the very next day after they release it. So maybe there is no release date for the album in the next 6 months. Sad news for us, her fans.
