When Jennette McCurdy stopped by Austin Texas, she talked with Bob Pickett from KASE 101 on April 13, 2011 answering some questions about her personal life and her Generation Love mall tour.
Q: How did you end up working with Jay Demarcus?
A: He heard my songs and was interested in producing with me. I walked in and he was wearing a Star Wars t-shirt and I figured it would be perfect.
Q: Best Star Wars movie?
A: Empire Strikes back
Q: Worst Star Wars movie?
A: Phantom Menace
Q: Do you have any Star Wars toys?
A: At one point in my room I had Empire Strikes back and Return of the Jedi gigantic posters on my walls and I had all the collectable older toys pinned around the border of my room with Star Wars bedspreads and I was also Princess Liea that year.
Q: And your dog is named Chewbacca?
Q: What’s the best mall you’ve been so far?
A: Hartford, Knoxville, and Harrisburg but for just the mall, the best mall was Mall of America since they had Rollercoasters inside and I’m a huge rollercoaster fan.
Q: Are you going back to iCarly?
A: Yes, we’re starting back in May for our fifth season for 100 episodes. Most sitcoms don’t go past 65
Q: Favorite episode of iCarly?
A: My favorite is iPie. In that episode everyone had great punch lines, no one was singled out and had great material.
Q: Is there anyone in country music that influences your style?
A: I love Randall Lambert and always loved Keith Urban because he puts so much emotion into everything he does and when he performs live, his heart is on his sleeve and it feels like he’s singing right to you.
Q: Are you going to incoporate singing with your TV show?
A: I wouldn’t rule it out, but I want to focus on keeping them separate so people can take my music seriously.
Q: The Generation Love album comes out in the fall but what about the Generation Love music video?
A: The video will premiere on Nickelodeon then be online available to watch.
